Winter wedding trends

Thinking about planning your wedding date? Many will instinctively open the calendar on the warmer months of May to September, yet have you considered how a winter wedding may just tick all of your boxes?
Here at Eastwood Park, we can’t get enough of this beautiful time of year, with frosty views of the Berkeley Vale and deer feeding off the lawn. Here are a few of our reasons why winter can be the most wonderful time of the year to tie the knot.
Get lit!
As the sun sets earlier in the day, your evening can start without delay! Sparklers, fairy lights and lanterns are all on trend and so the earlier sunsets can work to your advantage and make for some beautiful and artistic photographs.
The golden rule
Winter weddings are prime time for showing off those jewel tones. Romantic reds, gorgeous golds, beautiful browns and glamorous greens! Pair these with natural wood slices for a rustic feel.
Taking the biscuit
Sweet treats are aplenty in the winter. It’s becoming ever more popular to incorporate a tea and coffee station at your big day, but have you considered a hot chocolate station? Add warming gingerbread, marshmallows and winter berries for a childhood memory appreciated by every guest, no matter their age.
The soft touch
Have you considered textures on your wedding day? A winter favourite is the classic, voluptuous velvet! Perfect in shades of burgundy, navy, grey or bottle green, velvet can be incorporated into many aspects of your wedding day including ties, ring box lining and even tablecloths.
Wear your heart on your sleeve
Winter of course brings cooler temperatures, so think longer sleeves, thick boleros or even a cape for that dramatic entrance! Many dress manufacturers are now designing their dresses to be flexible, often with the ability to add or remove sleeves, tulle skirts and trains. This is perfect if you are looking to change your outfit during the day, or if you’re still unsure on your accessories.
Rose to the occasion!
Dried flowers are making a comeback! They are particularly striking for woodland themed weddings and can be arranged before the big day, which cuts out the need to source fresh bouquets and arrangements, plus, you can keep them for use around your home.
