Zumba & BBQ event at Eastwood Park in June

This June, one of the many summer events that we are looking forward to hosting here at Eastwood Park is a charity BBQ & event for local Zumba group – Zumba® with ZIN™ Amie King. For a sneak peak of what the day will include, we have caught up with instructors Amie and Jo.

Tell us a bit about the Zumba & BBQ event

Our first event at Eastwood Park was in 2016, inspired by the Pink Glove Party/Dance for Breast Cancer Charities. Since then, we’ve held a festive feast and afternoon tea for the Alzheimer’s Society, and thought it was about time we held another event this year. We’ll start with a fun song we love called “Super Positive” - we all do this together in one room, which creates a great group atmosphere. After this, there’ll be 90 minutes of energetic and fun Zumba held in an adjoining room. Guests can choose to join us for all or part of the Zumba® session. Alternatively, our guests are welcome to watch and enjoy the surroundings, and of course we have the BBQ for everyone to enjoy. Raffle tickets will be sold throughout the event, with the chance of winning prizes donated by local businesses including Eastwood Park.

How did you choose this specific charity?

For the previous two events, we chose national charities. This year we decided to support a local charity, The James Hopkins Trust, based in Gloucester. They provide day and respite care for life-limited or life-threatened young children along with support to their families creating special memories.

We're delighted you've chosen to return to Eastwood Park - why do you choose to hold your event here?

When planning our first event three years ago, we arranged to meet Mary and have a look around. Mary is an absolute superstar, supporting us all the way through from our very first meeting up until the day itself. Nothing is ever too much trouble, so naturally we would never had any reason to look anywhere else! Eastwood Park has always supported and enabled us to achieve so much at each event.

How can people get tickets if they'd like to attend?

We have an event page on Facebook which guests can RSVP to and directly buy tickets from, alongside Eventbrite or alternatively contact either Amie King or Jo Summers via the details on the event page.
