New endoscopes decontamination seminar proves

Over 40 delegates attended the first seminar held by Eastwood Park on the decontamination of endoscopes in October.

With recent publicity highlighting the potential for improvement in this area Eastwood Park invited well-known experts in this area to lead this one-day seminar.
 
Tina Bradley from Birmingham set the scene, discussing current issues, Stuart Line (Microbiologist and retired AP), discussed the new guidelines for endoscopy; HTM01-06, that are currently under development. Gwen Walker, Infection Control Lead, discussed how the guidelines may affect practice and Olympus’ Jan Palmer-Burge provided delegates with an animated, practical session on endoscope decontamination.
