Timely launch of new Decontamination and Infection Control Course from Eastwood Park | Oct 07

With recent reports by the Healthcare Commission highlighting the sad fact that a quarter of hospital trusts in England are failing to meet new standards of infection control, the announcement from Eastwood Park of its extended Decontamination & Infection Control training portfolio is more than timely.

Eastwood Park has just developed and launched a new course that combines the knowledge of infection control with the principles of decontamination related to all sluice room activities.   The aim of the course is to provide the knowledge to underpin practice and above all improve standards.

John Thatcher, Director of Training and CEO at Eastwood Park , Training and Conference Centre said:   “We are constantly adding to our portfolio of training and launching this latest course focusing on controlling infection within the sluice room environment couldn’t have come at a more appropriate time.   It really will benefit all levels of staff, as it deals with everything from basic hand washing techniques through to addressing the principles of microbiology and infection prevention, including taking samples for microbiological culture.  It re-inforces relevant HTM guidance documents and best practice protocols.”

This short course of just 2.5 days will be available from February next year and is just part of a full range of Decontamination and Infection Control courses available from Eastwood Park.  Visit www.eastwoodpark.co.uk or call +44(0)1454 262777 to find out more .
