This is an overview of HTM 01-05.  It defines key terms and activities and in
particular pays attention to the notions of ‘essential quality requirements’
and ‘best practice’, and the need to attain and maintain both. It is ideal for
everyone involved in decontamination in a dental setting – dentists, dental
technicians, dental nurses, practice managers, etc.

A single module, which will take about 30 minutes to complete.

 
 

   

The fundamentals of decontamination practice


This module looks at the part played and responsibilities of the two key roles
- the user and the operator in the terminology of the HTM. It examines the cleaning cycle and highlights some of the potential problems. 

It is suitable for anyone involved in decontamination in a dental setting, especially those directly involved in the cleaning and decontamination of instruments.
