WTM3 - Automated endoscope reprocessors - annual testing

Prerequisite to attending the course
A prerequisite for attending this WTM3 course is that the delegate has attended and passed the Flexible endoscope washer disinfectors - quarterly testing (HTM 01-01) course (WTM2).

Accreditation
The course is accredited by the City & Guilds of London Institute.

Who will benefit?
National Health Service staff or contractors required to perform the duties of a Test Person/ Competent Person (CP) and to carry out periodic testing of washer-disinfectors as defined in HTM 01–01/HTM 2030.

Aim
To provide delegates with the necessary skills and procedural practices to apply the guidelines of HTM 01–01/HTM 2030 and enable them to obtain the City & Guilds of London Institute certificate 2295-17.

Objectives
Delegates will acquire the skills and knowledge to:
  • Examine all the tests described in HTM 01–01/HTM 2030 for annual testing of flexible endoscope machines
  • Carry out the annual tests described in HTM 01–01/HTM 2030
  • Understand the microbiological tests described in HTM 01–01/HTM 2030  
  • Explain the results obtained from an external laboratory
  • Identify and design logbooks/data sheets

What next?
Delegates can achieve the Diploma in Washer Disinfector Testing Technology by achieving the WTM1, WTM2 and WTM3 within 2 years.

On completion of the WTM3, those who are working in a Test Person/Competent Person (CP) role may wish to progress to porous load sterilizers:

STM2 - Large porous load sterilizers – quarterly testing
STM3 - Large porous load sterilizers – annual testing & revalidation
