STM3 - Large porous load sterilizers – annual testing & revalidation to HTM guidelines

Prerequisite to attending the course
The successful completion of STM2 (Large porous load sterilizers – quarterly testing to HTM2010/HTM01-01) is a prerequisite for attending this course.

Accreditation
The course is accredited by the City & Guilds of London Institute, certificate 225913.

Who will benefit?
National Health Service staff or contractors required to perform the duties of a Test Person as defined in HTM2010/HTM01-01.

Aim
To enable delegates to carry out the recommended yearly and revalidation testing procedures on large* porous load sterilizers in accordance with HTM2010/HTM01-01.

Objectives
Delegates will acquire the skills and knowledge to:
  • Conduct yearly/revalidation tests
  • Interpret test results correctly
  • Produce detailed reports

Other information
On completion of this course the delegate will have gained the knowledge and skills to test large porous load sterilizers to a yearly/revalidation level. If not already achieved, delegates can attain the 'Diploma in Sterilizer Testing Technology' certificate by attending and passing our STM1: Transportable steam sterilizers–annual testing to HTM2010/HTM01-01 and STM2: Large porous load sterilizers–quarterly testing to HTM2010/HTM01-01 sterilizer testing courses, prior to this course (STM3).

* Large porous load sterilizers are those that can accommodate one or more rectangular boxes measuring 300 x 300 x 600mm of volume 54 litres

What next?
Delegates can achieve the Diploma in Sterilizer Testing Technology by achieving the STM1, STM2 and STM3 within 2 years.
