This course is accredited by CITB Construction Skills. Assessment will be by a written test paper and observation of the delegate working on a system.

Who will benefit?
Engineers, estate officers and others needing an appreciation of steam and condensate systems, and factors affecting their operation.

Aim
To give a broad understanding of the purpose and safe operational requirements of steam and condensate systems and factors affecting their performance and plant output.

Objectives
Delegates will acquire the skills and knowledge to:
  • Explain the basic fundamentals of steam and why it is used
  • Discuss the steam and condensate cycle
  • Identify the component parts of a steam and condensate system
  • Demonstrate good installation practices for best plant performance
  • Explain the basic, safe operation requirements of a steam and condensate system
