Who will benefit?
The course will provide an excellent foundation for medical engineering staff who are involved in the servicing and maintenance of anaesthetic equipment.

Aim
To provide the knowledge and skills to maintain and service a wide range of anaesthetic equipment following relevant safety procedures.

Objectives
Delegates will acquire the skills and knowledge to:
  • Identify, handle and safely connect a range of medical gas cylinders
  • Carry out routine servicing procedures and performance tests on a range of therapy flow meters and regulators, cylinders and pipeline entonox equipment and pipeline suction equipment
  • Perform safety and pre-use checks on anaesthetic trolleys in accordance with the Association of Anaesthetic safety checklist 
  • Recognise potentially hazardous situations and take appropriate action
  • Manage anaesthetic equipment safely
  • Explain the physiology in relation to the respiratory system
