Who will benefit?
Hospital fire safety advisors, aspiring hospital safety advisors, or newly appointed hospital fire safety advisors. Personnel who require training in healthcare fire safety.

Facility managers, Healthcare Engineers, Healthcare Estate staff, Health and Safety managers in the public or private sector, requiring training in healthcare fire risk assessments.

Delegates should be in healthcare fire safety or about to have a role in healthcare fire safety and should be able to assess the means of escape in their work environment and possess a basic understanding of fire safety principles.

Aim
To equip the course delegates with the necessary understanding of the associated fire safety risks in healthcare premises.

Objectives
Delegates will acquire the skills and knowledge to:
  • Specify the legal requirements appertaining to fire risk assessment in healthcare premises
  • To apply the recommendations of Firecode HTM05-03 part K: Guidance on fire risk assessments in complex healthcare premises
  • Explain the managerial responsibilities contained in Firecode and the necessity to prepare fire strategies for existing buildings
  • Undertake a group fire risk assessment of the patient care areas of an existing hospital
