HV06 - Authorised person - HV (HTM 06-03)

Who will benefit?
All staff nominated as an Authorised Person (electrical) with respect to HV (High Voltage) distribution equipment in healthcare premises.

Aim
The course will introduce delegates to electrical systems and the dangers which exist and can arise when operating and working on HV systems. Delegates will gain the required knowledge to issue safety documentation in compliance with current HSE legislation and specific procedures recommended in the HTM 0603.

Objectives
The training will cover safe operating procedures relating to the operation and maintenance of a variety of equipment using ‘hands on’ practical exercises.

Other information
The course is fully residential (evening exercises will be conducted). Delegates who attend this course should have a firm understanding of basic electrical principles and theory. The course has an external practical element and delegates are advised to bring outdoor protective clothing.

What next?

This course should be repeated every three years to maintain up to date skills and knowledge.
