ENRA - Water risk assessment - log book awareness (HTM 04 & ACoP L8)

The course is accredited by the City & Guilds of London Institute.

There is a legal requirement to carry out a risk assessment for any situation where staff or visitors may be exposed to hazards which could affect their health. Course ENWS is recommended to be taken prior to this course. An assessment is carried out at the end of the course

Who will benefit?
Staff who will be required to carry out water risk assessments within the built environment to comply with statutory and non-statutory requirements.

Aim
To provide delegates with the medical, legal and engineering knowledge they require to enable them to carry out a risk assessment.

Objectives
Delegates will acquire the skills and knowledge to:
  • Identify the medical objectives of the risk assessment
  • List the statutory obligations required and explain their meaning
  • Discuss the contents of the many non-statutory documents
  • Identify and evaluate the area of risk in relation to water safety
  • Discuss the engineering implementation of cold and hot water system,
    aerosol generating equipment, hydrotherapy and swimming pools,
    cooling tower,  air-conditioning systems, pipework humidifier, fire fighting
    equipment and others
  • Describe water sampling techniques, analysis and interpretation of results
  • Demonstrate the format and layout of the written report
  • Draw a schematic diagram of the building water system

Other information
Delegates should attend:
ENWS - Managing legionella in building water systems
as a prerequisite to this programme.

Delegates should attend:
WSRC - Water systems - refresher every two years.
