Staff involved in the safety testing of medical equipment who require an update or refresher.

Aim
To give delegates a sound understanding of the philosophy behind safety testing of electrical medical equipment. This understanding will then enable participants to select and apply appropriate testing techniques to a range of equipment.

Objectives
Delegates will acquire the skills and knowledge to:
  • List the hazards of electrical medical equipment and identify their causes
  • Perform acceptance tests on electrical medical equipment to an appropriate code of practice
  • Perform routine electrical safety tests on electrical medical equipment to an appropriate code of practice
  • Record the results of such tests in an appropriate form.

Other information
This course involves a large element of practical work during which course members employ a comprehensive range of test equipment to perform safety testing on various items of equipment.
