ELCE - Lift management (HTM08-02) LOLER and SAFed

The delegate will receive an Eastwood Park certificate of attendance.

Who will benefit?
Facilities and Estate Managers, lift installers, servicing and maintenance contractors & engineering consultants with a responsibility for lifts and who wish to understand their roles, responsibilities and legal obligations under current regulations and guidance.

Aim
To provide delegates with an understanding of their legal and mandatory obligations, under current legislation, towards all vertical transportation (lifts) at their premises. Regulations include: The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER), Safety Assessment Federation’s (SAFed) Lift guidelines on the supplementary testing of in-service lifts & Health Technical Memorandum (HTM) 08-02: Lifts, Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) & British Standards.

Objectives
Delegates will acquire the skills and knowledge to:
  • Explain the roles and responsibilities of the Authorised person, Competent person, Designated person, Dutyholder, Lift Release Wardens & Designated staff in accordance with HTM 08-02
  • Manage lift safety under LOLER & HTM 08-02.
  • Define the term ‘Competent Person’
  • Define legal and mandatory obligations for installing, maintaining and operating an efficient lift service within their premises
  • State the legal aspects of lift examination, with regard to LOLER, Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER), British Standards and SAFed.
  • Understand the basic operating principles of lifts

Other information
The course combines formal classroom instruction with individual practice of the procedure and a written test. Overalls and hardhats will be required.
