ELAM - Advanced lift maintenance & servicing (HTM08-02) LOLER & SAFed

Prerequisite to attending the course
Delegates will need to have attended our ELLM - Lift machinery safety and servicing course and/or have been working as an apprentice or with a qualified engineer for at least 12 months.

Accreditation
The course is accredited by BTEC.

The practical elements of this course have been approved by City and Guilds as Realistic Work Environments for NVQ candidates to complete the first of 3 mandatory assessments on the NVQ level 3 in Engineering Maintenance (Lift servicing) and Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance (Lift repair). Candidates will benefit from learning appropriate to their NVQ portfolio building at this level

Who will benefit?
Engineers who have already attended our Lift machinery safety and servicing course (ELLM) and/or who have been working as an apprentice or with a qualified engineer for at least 12 months.

Aim
To give delegates a deeper understanding of lift maintenance and their electrical and mechanical safety features, building on learning from the introduction to lift machinery safety and maintenance course. Lifts are inherently dangerous machinery and safety will be of prime importance on this course.

Objectives
Delegates will acquire the skills and knowledge to:
  • Identify mechanical faults on lifts
  • Identify mechanical maladjustments on lifts
  • Identify and rectify electrical faults on lifts
  • Rectify mechanical faults and maladjustments
  • List relevant legal, safety and regulatory documentation
  • Carry out routine lift inspections in accordance with LOLER and SAFED

Other information
The course combines practical and classroom work. Overalls and hard hats will be required.
