Testing washer disinfectors to HTM guidance | WTM1

Who will benefit?
National Health Service staff or contractors required to carry out periodic testing of washer-disinfectors as defined in HTM 2030.

Aim
To provide delegates with the necessary skills and procedural practices to apply the guidelines of HTM 2030 and enable them to obtain the City & Guilds of London Institute certificate 229511.

Objectives
Delegates will acquire the skills and knowledge to:

  • Explain the need for cleaning and disinfection in healthcare premises
  • Identify appropriate documentation
  • Name the personnel involved with washer-disinfectors
  • List testing procedures
  • Discuss washer-disinfectors for different applications
  • Carry out periodic testing
  • Complete test records and interpret results correctly
  • Calibrate and use data logging equipment as a test recording device

Accreditation
The course is accredited by the City & Guilds of London Institute.

Other information
Project based assessments for City & Guilds accreditation will be carried out during the practical sessions. The successful completion of a sterilizer Test Person training module prior to this course is strongly recommended.

What next
WTM2 and WTM3 on completion of this course the delegate will have gained the knowledge and skills to carry out periodic testing on washer disinfectors. Attending this WTM1 course is a pre-requisite for attending our WTM2 course.

Please note: As soon as the new HTM 01 guidance is released, course delivery and certification will be transferred over.
