Safe entry and working in confined spaces | STS-SECS

Who will benefit?
Any person whose job involves work and entry into confined spaces.

Aim
To provide the candidate with knowledge of the dangers and legal requirements pertinent to work taking place in confined spaces.

Objectives
Delegates will acquire the skills and knowledge to:
- Demonstrate a good understanding of the hazards associated with work in confined spaces
- Implement the practises needed to ensure safe operation whilst this work takes place
- Demonstrate an understanding of the Legal requirements and responsibilities relating to confined space entry
- Demonstrate an understanding of the request for work to be done in a confined space
- Demonstrate an understanding of identify and evaluated hazards
- Demonstrate an understanding of develop and implement pre-entry procedures (Gas Detectors)
- Demonstrate an understanding of evaluate, permit, space atmosphere conditions
- Demonstrate an understanding of provide, use and maintain necessary equipment (hoists, harnesses, tripods, emergency escape equipment)
- Demonstrate an understanding of working in a confined space
Accreditation
This course is not yet accredited; however delegates will be required to successfully pass a theoretical test to demonstrate understanding of the learning before a completion certificate is issued
