Tower Scaffolding - Prefabricated Tower Scaffold | STS-MTS

Who will benefit?
Operatives or supervisors involved with the erection and use of all types of prefabricated tower scaffold.

Aim

To train candidates to an acceptable standard in compliance with the Health and Safety Executive GS42 Guidelines for erection and dismantling of Pre-Fabricated Tower Scaffold.

Objectives
By the end of the course the delegates will have the skills to:

  • Erect and dismantle safely, in accordance with the Health and Safety Executive and manufacturers guide lines.
  • Understand the need for accident prevention
  • Carry out inspection of tower scaffolds
  • Understand employers and employees responsibilities
  • Demonstate an understanding of Health and safety at work Act section 2/GS42
  • HSE guidance
  • Components use and inspection
  • Use of registers
  • Types and materials used, steel towers, working platforms
  • Safe erection and siting of structure (Loading, Foundation, Stability)
  • Access and egress
  • Toe boards, Guard rails, secure lashing, ladders
  • Checking of tower scaffolds
  • Personal protective equipment requirements

Equipment Requirements
For 1 Tower (15ft):

  • 4 caster wheels
  • 1 toe board unit
  • 2 tower base frames
  • 2 tower main frames
  • 2 tower hand rails
  • 4 out riggers
  • 1 trapdoor platform
  • 2 platforms
  • 12 short braces
  • 8 long braces
  • 2 stair units / or ladders
  • Manufacturers instruction guide
  • A suitable classroom will also be required
