Manual Handling for Supervisors and Managers | STS-MH

Who will benefit?
Anyone who is involved in the manual handling of materials, and those who are likely to be required to carry out manual handling assessments would benefit from this course.

Aim
The course content will analyse accident statistics and the kind of injuries incurred through manual handling.  The course will study guidelines for assessments to the candidate the necessary skills to asses a task.

Increase the safety awareness and risk assessment skills of managers and supervisors and will enable them to carry out assessments of handling tasks covered by these regulations.

Objectives
Delegates will acquire the skills and knowledge to:

• Define individual responsibilities relating to assessment and control measures.
• Evaluate the problems of body posture and movement associated with work activities.
• Assess the ergonomics of manually handling loads.
• Give advice and guidance in the development of safe systems of work in compliance with regulations.
• Demonstrate how to record manual handling assessments and monitoring arrangements.
