Servicing Anaesthetic Equipment | SAE

Who will benefit?
The course will provide an excellent foundation for medical engineering staff who are to be involved with the maintenance of anaesthetic equipment.

Aim
To provide practical experience in the basic maintenance of, and safety procedures used with, a wide range of anaesthetic equipment.

Course Content
- Anaesthesia device management
- Safety of anaesthesia equipment
- Medical gas hoses
- Medical gas systems and safety
- Respiratory physiology
- Breathing circuits
- Anaesthetic machines and associated equipment

Objectives
Delegates will acquire the skills and knowledge to:
- Identify, handle and safely connect a range of medical gas cylinders
- Carry out routine servicing procedures and performance tests on a range of therapy flow meters and regulators, cylinders and pipeline entonox equipment and pipeline sustion equipment.
- Perform safety and pre-use checks on anaesthetic trolleys (association of Anaesthetic checklist) .
- Recognise potentially hazardous situations and take appropriate action.

What Next
This course will provide the underpinning knowledge and skills to undertake manufacturer training courses on specific anaesthetic equipment.
