Combined Water Course - Responsible Person | ENRWS

Who will benefit?
All staff involved in the management and operation of building water systems and who may be appointed as Responsible Persons for building water systems.

Aim
To provide delegates with a comprehensive understanding of their responsibilities for building water systems.

Objectives
Delegates will acquire the skills and knowledge to:
- Medical aspects
- Statutory and non statutory legal requirements
- Identifying areas of concern in building water systems
- Describe methods of sampling and testing water
- Types of disinfectants to be used
- Safe storage and handling of disinfectants
- Chemical dose and ph factor measurements
- Neutralisation of disinfectants
- Water circulations
- Recognise water pollution
- Water risk assessments
- Maintain a log book
- Methods of recording information
- Tasks of the responsible person
- Propose and cost schemes to update water systems to meet new standards
Accreditation
The course is accredited by the City & Guilds of London Institute. An assessment is carried out at the end of the course.
There is a legal requirement to carry out a risk assessment for any situation where staff or visitors may be exposed to hazards which could affect their health. An assessment is carried out at the end of each course module.
