IOSH Managing Safely | EMP-MS

Who will benefit?
Directors, health and safety advisers, line managers, supervisors and team leaders, health and safety committee members. Anyone responsible for the development and implementation of safety management procedures and policies, or managing safely within their organisation.

Aim
Managers will learn how to safely manage activities in their workplace. The course will highlight the application of good management systems in respect of health and safety, as part of a total management control strategy.
Better safety management prevents accidents and helps an organisation meets its legal, moral and business obligations. It also saves cost both directly and indirectly.
The benefit of attending a five day course is that delegates will leave the course with all requirements completed for IOSH accreditation, including the risk assessment project.

Objectives
Delegates will acquire the skills and knowledge to:
- Legislation - Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
- Safety management systems
- Accident prevention, investigation and reporting
- Fire, electricity and noise
- Proactive safety management
- Reactive monitoring
- Provision and use of work equipment
- Risk assessment and risk control
- Safety policy and organisation
- Common hazards and their management
- COSHH, manual handling, display screen equipment
Accreditation
Course is accredited by IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health). Delegates who complete the course successfully receive the IOSH Working Safely Certificate.
Assessment consists of a short end of course exam and a risk assessment project.
