Who will benefit?
Those who are involved with the management of building contracts both pre or post contract for Minor Capital Works under JCT Minor Works, JCT IFC 98, GC Works/2 and ECC Short Form and need a basic understanding of contract law.

Aim
To give a basic understanding of contract law, the forms of contract available and the duties and responsibilities under such forms of contract in order that the delegate may effectively manage such works to a successful conclusion.

Objectives
Delegates will acquire the skills and knowledge to:
- Recognise the origins of our law, identify the basic elements of contract law; review important recent judicial precedents and important statutes that impact construction
- Prepare contract documentation suitable for the carrying out of Minor Capital Works by Contractors and Subcontractors
- Interpret the various provisions of the Minor Works forms of contract in the context of administ Minor Capital Works
- List the roles and responsibilities of the professionals involved in the development and administration of Minor Capital Works building and engineering projects
- Identify basic elements of the law of tort including negligence, and the contractual and tortuous liabilities which exist within the terms of the various Minor
- Capital Works contracts
